What equipment do I need in order to transport 1) bike 2) kayak 3) skis/snowboard. Thanks for pointing me to the right place. I tried searching and was not very successful. Do I need the roof rails and then something from Yakima /Thule, etc. or is there a less expensive way?

Here are what you need from yakima as far as rack

48" crossbar
00214 control towers
landing pad 1 ( make sure u use the metal washer instead of the rubber)
4 sks locks

All cost me around $187

You can get the same from Thule. Here's my install:



With the Thule, you buy the standard crossbars, towers, etc. Then you get the special "feet" for installing onto roof rails:



They screw on with hex screws and special metal tabs instead of nuts:
