new problem
the other day when i drove out of the garage, the right rearview mirror did not
reset and then for the first four miles the steering had a pretty bad shake -
like an alignment problem. after a traffic light stop everything was fine.
dealer found no fault codes.
also i'm on my second oil filler cap - leak is less but still there, will be replaced.
had the s and cayenne as loaners - great cars, but wont give the ctt
k. a.

For how long you didn't drive the car?
1. If you left the car parked for a long period of time (even 2-3 weeks is cosidered pretty long) your battery #1 ( the one that controls the ECU and other elec., you know that the Cay. has to bat's. right? One to start the car and one that conrols electronics and lights, in case your bat. dies the car will still start but you might have some elec. malfunktion till is chaged enough) it might of drained enough to create electronic malfuntion , like mirrors (in your case), navi, alarm/sec. system, tailgate glass lid to pop-up by itself etc...
2. Your car will shake till the tires warm up (few miles) and get the proper round shape, because of them sitting in one place for a longere period of time they get the flat shapes from the floor.
Maybe that's not the case with your car but I had it happen to me, from the car sitting to long in the garage (vaca. time) without a battery maintainer, and the off balance weird tire shaking also.
I hope that helps...

The mirror 'malfunction' was more than likely just another one of the Cayenne's electrical system 'personalities'.....a.k.a. non repeatable gremlins. If it's working now, then you're probably OK.
As for the vibration, flat spotting the tires is the most likely explanation. A quick check of cold tire pressures is also in order.
