Default do I need phone prep kit?

I have purchased a bluetooth kit for my car, the Sony Ericsson HCB-30. I also ordered the kit from Becker to do the radio mute. I have the CDR-23 receiver.

Do I have to have the factory cell phone prep kit? If I don't get it, will I lose any functionality with the radio?

Does anyone have any instructions on how to connect a kit to the stereo? I want to hand it to the installer at the car stereo place.

My 5/2/04 posts show the component parts, from Becker, not Porsche.

The instructions are available to contributing members at www.renntech.org

If an antenna will be added, my suggestion would be to consider the factory antenna, as it is integrated and hidden in the rear spoiler. This is shown in my 4/10/04 post. The integrated dual microphone is also a nice integrated solution, also shown in my 4/10/04 post.

The vehicle will need to stop at the dealership, to enable the phone audio input to the radio, with the PST2 / PST3.
