Instrument cluster color display on the Cayenne S
Just got my cayenne S after a long wait . I know this is might sound strange but i really got crushed when i noticed that i have the mono color display . What come to my understanding that you can get the color Display in VW touareg if you get the Air sus. or the navi system even if you have the V6.
I thought cayenne and touareg have similar platform and system.
Can i get the cayenne turbo intrument cluster with the color display replace in my S?

Reasons are the CAN bus, MOST bus and the different instruments for the Turbo.

How do you think that compares to Volkswagen/Audi (VAG)?

There have not been any posts that I have seen which documented an unsuccessful installation attempt at putting a color display into an S or V6.
All these vehicles: V6, S, TT and Touareg, share a common platform and electronic busses.
It is possible that this combination will not work, but I have not seen anyone post those results.

I would not worry about your display. I have the turbo w/ color display and it's no big deal. Not like you spend any real time looking at it. I upgraded from the CS to the CTT and thought it would be cool but I have not given it a second thought until this post. MPH shows up in orange instead of white like all the other features - that's it.

Truble 10, Was it worth the upgrade to CT? I'm not being critical but the CS hauls *** as it is and do you really need the CT's extra HP (i.e., Sport SUV Activities)?
I myself am waiting to sink the extra $$$ on the new 997 Turbo Cab. when it debuts!

only the turbo comes with the color display, and apparently its impossible to swap it.
its not really that big a deal.
that said, the turbo is worth the price.

ljugete,
First off I've always been a turbo guy. Have owned several starting with a 1979 930 and now a 2002 996TT.
I never drove the CTT when I purchased the CS - I guess I knew what would happen. I convinced myself that 450+ hp was a waste on an SUV. After a few months I noticed the prices on used CTT's dropping and decided to sell my CS and get a used CTT.
I'm not sure if I would have paid the $100K price of my CTT - got it in FL w/ 9,000 miles in the low $70's. Plus it had $6K Champion wheels, Fabspeed cat bypass pipes and some other goodies.
I've never been so happy with a daily driving car in my life. My 996 TT almost never comes out of the garage any more. This is the first daily driving car that I LOVE. For me it really is a perfect vehicle. I can put my mountain bike inside, has plenty of room - for a single guy - and it goes. Mine is really fast. And the sound! I think the Fabspeed cat bypass pipes are the single best upgrade for the CTT at the price. I've had several people comment on the sound.
I have had a couple of issues but nothing a trip to the dealer did not fix.
The turbo is a night and day difference from the CS. The CS is a great vehicle with plenty of power. The CTT for me is a dream car considering I have to have one SUV. Considering the alternatives - Lexus LX470, Range Rover & H2. There is simply no comparison.

That was a SWEET deal that you got! I don't blame you for not passing that up!
The CT is an awesome SUV (I actually haven't test driven one yet because I don't want a divorce my wife)!
I've got my 1995 993 C2 Cab. and do want to move up to a Turbo Cab. later on (I think I'll keep the 993 though - It's looks, sounds and drives so sweeeetly)!
Thanks for the input and enjoy!
