Default Airbag Fault

The car registers an air-bag fault when it comes on and the indicator light stays on... only 60 miles on the car.. Tried doing a hard systems reset, still there.

The airbag fault requires the dealership to clear the fault with the PST2. Please request the fault code and post it here.

There is a TSB for the airbag fault light. One of the ground is not connected properly and causes the fault. You need to bring your Cayenne in to dealership.

My vehicle had fault 1217 from the wire being too tight under the driver's seat.

Codes 1217 and 1218- look it up at Renntech.org. Mine did it a week ago after 7K miles. Have to remove seats and redo wiring. Fixed now. Think it is a pretty common problem. Dealer worked me in pretty fast- I think the airbag stuff scares PCNA, especially after the "letter" they had to send out about the lack of the two stage airbag in spite of what is in the owner's manual. That was the first thing that went wrong with my "car" after 5 months and 7K miles.

Thanks guys... My dads 745 and my Cayenne both get serviced here at All Pro Imports, and the 745 is having recalls done right now; after that I'll take in my Cayenne.. I'm considering going elsewhere though; the bmw has been there since Monday and wont be done till next Tuesday for basic idrive updates, etc.
