Default Winter Tires

Anyone have any thoughts on the best winter tires available. Porsche offers 18 inch Turbo wheels with 235/60 Dunlop Winter Sports. Any good? How do they compare to the Dunlop Grand Trek M2.

Thanks.

They do?

The October / November issue of Christophorus has the winter tire recommendations. They recommend either the Dunlop Grandtrek WT M2 or the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow.

Porsche takes tire recommendation very seriously. The Grandtrek is an outstanding tire for the Cayenne.

I also put on a set of the scorpion ice and snows XL "H" rated -- 255 55 18, based on other's recommendations -- from Tirerack. I took them up to Tahoe a few weeks ago, but I didn't drive on enough snow or ice to test them. The tire drives very nicely, handles well, and is quiet. Porsche has an NO version that is "V" rated; didn't know about it when I bought mine a couple of months back. The Dunlop is "H" rated. Whatever you get, make sure it meets or exceeds load requirements.
