Smile 20 or 22 inch wheels

Hey,

I just purchased a new '04 Cayenne and wish to upgrade my wheels. I currently have the original Cayenne stock 18's on it (only 50 miles on them if any one wants them, tires and wheels together. Fairly cheap of course). Anyways, I am looking for a set of 20 inch wheels or even 22 inch. My question is would the 22 inch wheels look alright on the car without getting it lowered? I'm scared they might make the car outrageously tall. I have the air suspension and PASM as well, hopefully this will not be a problem for 22 inch wheels?

Lastly, is any one here selling a set of Sporttechno wheels? Or any other 20 or 22 inch wheels? I would prefer silver wheels, as my car is beige.

Thank you,
Suneet

Default Springs

The lowering springs wont tamper with the air suspension in any way? Sorry, I'm not very knowledgeable about suspensions.

If you have air suspension you cant get the lowering spring however there is the lowering module by techart or cargraphic it is just a chip and they connect it somewhere in the car and now whenever u want ur car lowered u just push the button :-)

"TechArt air suspension module, part number 048.200.270.009****

Price: $2499"

Springs it is... How much do you think installation would run?

Thanks,
Suneet

the total height of the tire /wheel combo is the same - 18, 20 or 22 inch rims.....unless you get non standard tires.

dont waste your time or money with 20's. As stated above 22's are about same diameter with a 30 profile (pirelli scorpion p zeros 295) speedo about 3% slower than actual speed

I'm going to break with the group. IMO the 22's are a bit too much--I prefer the look of the 20's, and to me it's still an SUV (but one that handles great).

I have a set of 20" Sport Design and a set of 19's for my CS. I love both of them. I would go with the 20's (the Sport Technos are also great), and keep the 18's for winter with the right tires.

Depends on your priorities and where you live.

20" will offer more practicality in the long run compared with the 22" wheels. Lower unsprung weight in general unless you're willing to go for the forged 22" wheels. Very expensive, but probably worth it.

If you have really nice roads i.e. no potholes, 22" shouldn't be a problem. Out here in the L.A. area, everybody's got the bling bling 22" and up on their SUVs, but we have the worst roads in the country. My brother-in-law just destroyed a set of forged 22" wheels on his Range Rover in the last rain storm going through semi-deep water filled with rocks and small boulders he couldn't see. Yea, probably his fault anyways. Hell, I've had my fair share of chipped finish on my 17" wheels with 45-series tires on my MB C280.

Again, it all comes down to personal preference and weighing the advantages/disadvantages.

sorry i meant If you have air suspension you cant get the lowering springs. Your only choice would be the techart or cargraphic module. A friend I know can get you a good discount on techart stuff.

I would go with the 20' sport technos. Best looking wheel for the cayenne imo.
