I'm in the same boat, the major thing is how to remove the gauge cluster and the nine yards associated with.
I was actualy thinking of doing them myself, need to get a workshop manual first!!!

Remove them and hand over the rings only to the paint shop, color code 92U. The glas, the cover etc.. is all separate. I did it many times. It works fine.

Regards

You did it many times, nice!
Would you mind sharing with us how it's done, removing the rings and so on?
Does the any parts of dash need to come out?

Thanks.

You need to take out the lower section of the dashboard. Remove the left cover from the the ignition lock and air vent. You will find few screws underneath the instrument cluster which you need to take out for the top cover of the cluster.
Remove the screws in the front of the instrument cluster and take out the rings.
It will take around 1 hour. Put in mind, after you have paint the instrument cluster rings in case of any warranty request the Porsche Dealer will not accept a warranty claim until it is back in original shape.Maybe you have a good relationship with the dealer to let him carry out the job and he will take care.

Regards

Thanks for the instruction.
Why would there be any waranty issues just for having the rings painted in silver anyway, however my dealer wouldn't even notice any difference couse they have a huge traffic of cayenne's and other porsche's going in and out all day to pay attention the gauge rings.

In case the instrument cluster failed and you need to change the cluster to a new one the dealer must not accept the item because you have open the cluster.Same with any other electronic part which you can buy in the shops.

regards
