AIR SUSUPENSION FAULT
#2
I haven't had any physical failures or warnings.
There was a post about a strange failure a while back:
http://forums1.roadfly.org/porsche/f...3768982-1.html
Don't know what the outcome was. From the write-up it sure seems like other folks have pushed Cayenne Ss and Turbos with air suspension much harder, and for many more miles, and not had any problems.

Mudman,
A warning light appeared shortly after starting "AIR SUSPENSION FAILURE WORKSHOP". After driving I noticed the suspension to be very much stiffer and terrible over bumps. I keep the switch in the low position in the Normal range.
I also noticed that the level (height) switch indicator light it will occasionally blink. I have an appointment at the dealer Monday; just hoping it isn't a long story.
Thanx,
Barron
P.S. This is the first problem I have had in over 20,000 miles in 13 months, with the exception of the DREADED VIBRATION.

You might find that it just goes away. I had the same in the ealry days, it came back after a few restarts.
Try this. Hold the roller switch back with the engine off but ignition on for about 30 seconds. Leave for a minute then hold it forward for the same. This should turn it of and then back on again.

If the dealership investigates the problem, please post the fault code and the remedy to resolve the problem. FYI, if it is an intermittant fault, then it will be automatically cleared from the vehicle memory after 50 ignition cycles. BTW, that auto clear does NOT apply to air bag faults.

My '04 CS has been to the dealer 4 times for this problem. They can't figure out what's wrong. Replaced sensors and control module and not fixed yet. It's going back in on 10/18 for another try.
If you figure out what the problem is - please post here and I'll do the same.
Thanks,
Barry

I got the "Air Suspension Fault Workshop" message on my CT. In the end, it was a bad g-sensor in the right front. The part had to be air freighted from Germany. Took almost a week to get it fixed.

Mudman2,
Great tip on how to fix the fault. I used your method Friday afternoon, and all is still well Monday A.M.. I appreciate it very much. A trip to the dealer in So. Fla. is worse than going to the dentist.

you will find that faults that have become common are ride height level sensors and the occasional control module. When the module was first released in Australia we had these problems rear their ugly little heads in our dealership.
