How easy is it to change the oil in the Cayenne?

The reason I know how much it drains when cold is when I picked up my '06 (CPO) Pepper the oil level was over full on the dipstick from the selling dealer, I don't like that. I used the rear plug to drain the overfill. It worked out well but I had to do it twice.

Make sure to get the right 2 plugs though. I opened the power steering drain plug by mistake.
Only a little drained , but I had to top it off and a liter is $20.
The oil drain plugs are pretty much one in front of the other. The Power steering fluid drain is toward the passenger side about 16".

Great post... just tackled my first oil change in the pepper S. What a piece of cake compared with my 993. I ended up flushing the brake fluid as well, while the car was up on the lift.
Wallmart had the 10w-40 5-quart jugs for $23. So, my total cost for brake flush and oil change was about $80 (filter, oil, crush washers, brake fluid) and total time committment about 2 hours. If I planned better, I could have done the brake flush while the oil was draining... bet I could do the whole job in 1 hour if I pushed hard next time.

Just did my oil as well, but have done it three times before, I tried LubroMoly Synthoil 5w-40, seems pretty happy with it and is on Porsche oil approval list.
Napa now stocks it.
On the second picture above there is a rectangular object that says BEHR on it, that object has some sharp fins on it and I have opened a nice flesh wound so take caution for first timers, it's right next to the oil filter.
Ninjabones, did you use a Motive brake bleeder to do the brakes?
I have one but still hesitant to use on the Cayenne, I'll try it on the Carrera first. On the Cayenne the bleed screws are well exposed through wheel access so seems pretty easy to do.

Yepp. I got an oil extractor a while ago, and wanted to test it last time I changed oil (a few weeks ago) on my Cayenne.
It worked great, but it's of course impossible to get ALL the oil out with those. I got what I could with the extractor and then opened the plugs and changed filter as well. I guess I got about a half to one quart of oil extra out from doing that.
It did help though, since there was less spill from opening the plugs och such. I think I'll go with just using the extractor and refill next time, and do a full change with opening plugs and changing filter every other time from now on.
EDIT: By the way, I didn't have a funnel on my latest oilchange. I cut a standard plastic coke bottle in half and used that - turns out it's an exact fit for the cayenne oil refill opening. It just snapped in there and sat very steadily. Recommended if you're out of funnels

You are correct, re-use the canister and replace the old rubber seal ring with the rubber seal pictured above and don't forget to oil it. There is a torque spec for the canister, you may want to do a search for the torque specs.
