No more vibration
I have lived with the vibration issue since my '03 C S past 8k miles. It is now at 30K. I have steel spring, 18'' summer tire, servotronic steering. I am on my 3rd set of tires now; tried road force balancing, alignment, etc; none of them helped.
Last week I brought my car to my dealership for some minor fixes, and am surprised to find the vibration problem was largely fixed. It was vibrating 90% of the time at 60-80mph, but now I can't feel the steering wheel shimmy anymore. It did come back during the past couple days for only about 1 minute.
The fixes done to the car were:
- a TSB related to brake pad contacting break support plate.
- W315 recall (replacing transfer case servo motor).
- A404 recall (seat belt).
