Post 957 air compressor connection on filter box

Hi!

Right air filter box has an male connection for compressor air input line (see image below in spoiler section). When I bought my Turbo, it was broken off and hole was clued shut, compressor female connection was just dangling in the engine bay. I now have a brand new air compressor installed with new valve block, moisture filter, etc, I bet unfiltered air can't be very good for air compressor.

So I got a box from junk yard with connection intact. However the tip is closed since the part is same/universal for Cayennes and Touaregs, with and without air suspension.
I'd appreciate any kind of information, measurements or pictures of the connection on air box lid from your Cayenne with air suspension so that I have an idea what kind of hole I should make.

To see the image, please open the spoiler:

Few more details: there's no thead, plug or anthing like that, it's moulded as a single piece.
So I assume it's supposed to be filed or just pry/break open, there seems to be a weird tab that might be there just for that, to open like a can of soda..

However, I really would prefer to not apply any force before I see an image how it's supposed to look like on Cayenne with air suspension.

I had the box fully exposed months ago after that connector had broken off taking a small area of the plastic around the connector with it. I cemented it back in place and reinforced with a thin piece of plastic cemented over it. The female hose simply was placed on the male connector (which was open, clear thru like a straw) and pushed on as far as it would go, till it was up against the side of air box. Sorry I cannot take pictures at this time as it is all put back togeter.

Actually, check out my post quite some time ago for a pic. https://rennlist.com/forums/cayenne-...r-housing.html

Thanks a lot, very useful information and also the thread you linked.

So yeah, it seems that I just need to file/cut off the end until the first crease.
Do you remember if the female just hold it with friction or is there some kind of click action?

Again, very helpful, thanks!

It seemed to of been held on with just friction.
Glad I was some help.

My memory is that it is held on with friction. There is no barb at the end.
