PCM programming (not for performance)
I have a 955TT I really enjoy, but I can’t get the cruise control to work. I’ve had it to Porsche and Stealership hit me hundreds and thousands of dollars and didn’t fix the problem. My honest mechanic said that the 05s were weird changeover year and for some reason, the computer is not programmed to allow The cruise control to work because it can’t see the brake pedal is released. The car also starts without holding the brake pedal down. As far as my expert can tell since the ABS reads the brake pedal fine it must come down to the programming of the computer . I really really would love to find a shop that knows enough about the codes and reprogramming to fix this problem, so my cruise control can wok!I’m so close to the finish line. I have really worked hard to restore it. Thanks, sorry for the long post

Sounds like either a module that wont program correctly, or something wrong with the brake pedal switch circuitry. I believe the 2005 doesn't use a simple switch on the brake pedal, but instead uses a switch on the ABS pump. Something to investigate further at least.
The mechanical parts of the process were all investigated. There is also a sensor on the brake booster pump, which I replaced to no avail. I don’t like the sound of the module “can’t“ be’ because that would seem to be the only solution
I hope it’s just a matter of finding a specialist understanding the software well enough to Change the program responding to the input from the various sensors to let the computer know the brake pedal is no longer being held down. Thanks for responding. I appreciate all input
