Add oil light & "service in 1000 miles" lights...
are on. Is it pretty normal to need oil in less than 2k miles? Also, I thought these need service every 2 years or 20k miles - whichever comes first. Any reason it's telling us we need it in about 1k miles?

Your service light prolly just needs a reset. No big deal. Id see your dealer to have it reset. I think the service interval is ONE time per year or 18,000 miles. I have had a few C's come back for top-offs. Mostly turbos though. The last one took one quart, and wa at 1,100 miles. If youre near your dealer, just pop in and have them top it off while you wait. Technically, its covered under the service adjustment portion of your warranty.
