Hi All,
Time to look into why I have a black screen whil in reverse. Further details: camera actuator was disabled in the system, once re-enabled it pops out just fine, but no image. Looking for info on module locations, any common corrosion points(has had Porsche auto interior rinsing option active) I have since cleaned all the drain ports... is it common for the camera to fail?

It is very common for the camera to fail. There is a great writeup on RL somewhere about troubleshooting and replacement of the camera with generic unit. My camera wasn't functioning when I bought my PiG more than seven years ago...someday I will get around to fixing it...

 

I have looked around, sadly I have only seen the replace with afm type. I hope to find details on location of module and connectors. I have no problem custom modding an newer upgraded camera into the actuating module(enjoy those type projects) but I have to get ky ducks in a row before I jump into this type of fix. Thanks for the reply.
P.S.
Also this repair is a lead up to my installing a Pioneer DMH-WT8600 and adding a front approach as well.

 

OP - Has the PCCM module been fiddled with at some point? PO may have messed with connectors and sys configs.
