Hello.
I looked and looked around for a solution to my power tailgate not working.
It is a 2008 Cayenne S.
Changed out the right hand strut and both glass struts the other day.
The hatch dont power open or power close at all, but the lock and soft close works. All lights in the tailgate works, including the closebutton.
I can hear the relays clicking when pressing the close button on the hatch.
If i measure the cable to the hydraulic pump when i press the close button it reads 4.5 volt.. for about 5-10 seconds.
If I run power directly to the hydraulic pump it works both up and down.
I have measured all three wires to the tilt-module and they are not broken.
I cant see any codes with my bluetooth scanner. Is there any special scanners for Porsches?

Just to add a response, My tailgate is obstinate at times not working for one point or other e.g. only opens with remote not tail button or driver door button, haven't figured out why yet... but I would recommend disconnecting battery and tying the ground and positive cable together for 15 minutes. Possibly bypass any errant codes. And yes there are Porsche specific code toys out there, seen them mentioned, I do not have one yet.

One other thing about Cayennes that may (or may not) help... If you can't open and close the power tailgate three times when the car is shut off, that is often a sign of a dead or failing battery.

read about that, installed new battery today, sadly no difference.

Tried the positive and ground bindning today when installing new battery. No luck.
