Dryer Removal - Snap Ring - I'm Stuck
I am attempting to remover the dryer and can access the snap ring. But when I close it (I can close it a decent amount), I can't seem to get it. But more importantly, is the plug edge getting in the way from what is required for it to be removed (does it need to be closed even further)? There is a little lip there and if the plug doesn't go down a small distance, I can't fully close the ring (see the image). I used a ratchet extension and tapped on the plug to try to push it down, but it doesn't budge. I don't want to ruin stuff by hitting it too hard. I have a slide hammer, but was prepared to use that for pulling it out. I can't get an adapter to fit to push it down, but figured a regular hammer is the same.
The AllData is weird, it seems to indicate pushing down the plug is to make the ring accessible. But I already have the ring accessible since I was able to rotate it.

I found a solution for me, but it was nothing like the the AllData version. In my case, I would have probably destroyed the condenser if I did it that way (my plug was in there pretty tight). I also have seen many questions regarding the dryer R&I but few answers. So I provided my solution here.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The above procedure is really only appropriate for a seized plug. After I installed the new dryer, the plug moves up and down freely (the dyer is spring loaded and pushes the plug back up). But as of now, it is easily pushed down. I suspect over time, it will become more and more difficult for the plug to move. I remember that Porsche said to change the dryer fairly often compared to what a lot of people thought...maybe its partially due to the potential for it to seize if the maintenance interval is too long.
