Mine is 2008 Cayenne pcm 2.1 = 7L5.035.192C with nav and Bose.

My PCM unit does not turn on.

Can someone kindly tell me if I get a used 7L5.035.192C, would it be plug and play or I have to take it to have the unit "piwis" ?

I put a used PCM 2.1 in my car and it worked fine without any coding. It did give a CD Changer Error message every time it turned on because I don't have a CD changer.
Eventually I used a PIWIS to tell it there was no CD changer. But only because the message got annoying.

Is your car a Cayenne with 7L5.035.192 C ?

Did you replace your original unit with an used unit with the same part number ?

Because I replaced my original 7L5.035.192 C with an used unit 7L5.035.192 B.

The radio worked but the LCD screen is all messed up, I do not know if the used unit is defective, or C and B are not interchangeable.

They should be interchangeable. I do not have my old radio any more. It also had a messed up screen that would flash colors and lines.
I think your "B" radio is broken.

I think you are right, the "b" from Ebay was most likely broken.

I decided not to take the chance with buying another used pcm 2.1, just in case I have to piwis the unit. Stealership probably charges 1.5 hours for it. It is such a waste of money and time. I am having a Sony put in.

I like my Cayenne but never a Porsche again because of Piwis.
