torags-you are right. alot of people incorrectly change their oil too early, not allowing the rings to seat. as a result, you will have an engine that chronically burns oil, secondary to blow-by. just follow the manual, and change your oil at 20k, and you all will be fine.

About 1,500 miles on my odo. I got a card from the dealer asking me to schedule my first service call. I called and told them that the manual said 20,000 miles and that my car was not ready for this! They said that I was right and that the computer had sent me this notice in error.
