Yes you can. I fitted a Curt aftermarket Treg hitch, there are pictures on my gallery.

There are some things to take into account however.

1 - The dealer will have to hook up PST2 to tell the computer its fitted.

2 - You will also need the Porsche electronics controller which is mounted after removal of the rear right side trim panels. Together with its own harness the links down to the socket.

3 - You will need to fabricate a socket mounting bracket.

You should be able to complete the job for $500-$600.

Better than $1500 eh

i'll give it a try. do it your self is not a good option, but it's good to know what to watch for.
