While I've searched with no success, I'm looking for any insight on what I assume others have experienced -
I have an '09 Turbo S, and if started and quickly put into gear (for example, what the garage attendants do in my garage in NYC), there is a loud "knock - knock - knock - knock - knock" and accompanying vibration that comes from the upper center dash area. This occurs when transitioning down from park with the gear lever, and is not specific to drive or reverse.
If the car is started, and allowed to rest for ~5 seconds before putting in gear, there is nothing abnormal that occurs. There are no other noises at speed or otherwise, no other abnormal vibrations, no hesitation to go into/change gears, and no fluids leaking.
Any ideas as to what may be the culprit component of the drivetrain - universal, transfer case, etc?
Thank you in advance. If this is has been addressed in another thread I welcome the link.
