I've had the AOS assemblies off multiple times at this point and everytime I question what the point of part 16 is in the attached image. It's just a hole in the valve cover that needs a seal, but the hole doesn't go anywhere in the AOS from what I can tell. Does anyone have an explanation on this one?

Oh I'm also asking because I found one of mine was cracked and leaking oil between the valve cover and intake.

I replaced these and the 17/18 o rings recently when i had my intake off. They were flat and firm. Car had 170k. Fcp has thrm but my local dealer matches thier prices and gets them overnight for free if they are ordering parts.

They werent expensive but when you add the 4 gaskets and 4 o rings i think it was $40 all in.
