Default Servotronic solenoid replacement?

I buggered the connector on my servotronic solenoid.

I am aware some people prefer the car without servotronic; I’d like to repair it properly and save that option for later.

so usually these only come with a steering rack. There is no separate part number.

The question is, will any solenoid that physically fits, work as designed? Can the markings on the solenoid be used to figure out if it will work properly?

For example, mine looks like this

Note the markings 276/255

I found one in Latvia that looks like this

Note the markings 0137/255

the question is; will that work? It is off of an 05 GTS I believe, in case that helps.

would a similar solenoid from VAG work? From a toureg or some other Audi sedan etc?

thanks!

It’s worth a try. It looks like a 2-pin connector. You could alway try soldering two wires to the pins on the side body of the sensor. Take it apart and give it a good cleaning. I bet it would work after that cleaning.
