Default Engine..

Do any of you guys rev your engines at all?? If so how much? What are your feelings on the matter, think it screws the computer timing up and stuff?

At idle reving can't go higher then 4krpm so it's kinda moot. Guess they doing that to protect engine and all. Regards. Mike

966FLT6 I noticed that one day, and wondered if something was wrong with my car, motor kinda stops reving past 4 K rpm. That's a great thing preventing you from unnecesary reving your motor.

I thing is not a good idea reving you motor for no reason in neutral, I don't beleive it screws up the timing, that has nothing to do with it, timing is controled via the ECU and it will be changed as the air/fuel ratio changes and through intake temp. changes also, to prevent from detonating and destroing your motor.

It has never been good for an engine to be revved without a load on. There is definately damage to be done. I'm not sure why you would do it anyway on an auto trans vehicle???? Makes sense in manual for those times when burnt rubber is desired, but the Cayenne doesn't even have a good exhaust note unless revved with a load.

Kind of strange that a commercial would have a guy revving the hell out of a tt..... Pretty cool huh?

Just wondering, because I'm sure that some of us do it... I've only done it a couple times but no more.
