The average Swiss driver might be nice and educated, BUT we have far more idiots than necessary on our streets too. And you can bet that one of them always parks next to you.

 

I'm a 10.

I never park between two cars unless the spaces are really wide, and then I always park at an angle so as to give the sense that the next guy pulling in should leave some room between us.

Ninety percent of the time I park away from all other cars (or at the end of a row of cars), and will take up a bit more than one spot if I'm parked really far away, where no one wants to park anyway!

I never pull the car in straight and this seems to help.

Last time I was offered valet parking I declined, and said "I will park it myself, thanks, and you will get a good tip (which he did)."
