Want to change fog light bulbs
Hello guys,
I was wondering if I would be able to change the fog light bulbs by myself. Is it a difficult procedure that should be done professionally or is it easy to swap the bulbs? What kind of bulbs are used in the fog lights? is there any specific brand or make you guys would suggest to match the nice xenon color?

If you look under the front where the fog light is, you'll see the thick torson bar that goes across from one side of the wheels to the other. Right in front of the torson bar is a squarish plastic molding. It is held on by philips head screws. Its the only piece under the car in this area that has phillips head screws. There's five screws total...three underneath and two more in the fender well. Remove these five screws and then the molding. This will give you full access to change your fogs as well as side markers. Turn the fog light counter clock wise (looking from the back of the lights) to loosen.
Makes sense they designed it like this to make quick change of bulbs easily accessible. It takes only minutes to remove these screws. I did it with my steering wheel straight. There's room in the fender well for a short phillip. You can always turn the wheels for better access.
Since I have the Xenon, my fog lights looked 'yellow'. I replaced it with those hi-quality white tints using AdvancedOptik HID Match Fog Light Bulbs. http://www.europeanautosport.com/optik.htm. A lot of Audi guys are using these bulbs. It's been almost a year and I always drive with these lights on. No burn outs yet.

HeyNSXTC what watt bulb did you buy from them? Do you guys think the 85 watt fog light bulbs would be overdoing it?
The options are...
H7 55w
H11 55w
9006 51w
H9 65w
9005 80w
PS: all the same price!

To change out my fog light bulbs, I just poped out the headlights and stuck my arm down and changed the bulbs. Other way is easy, but the headlight way is damn easy too.

I used the standard 55W bulb. I wasn't sure how the electrical wiring, lense and case will react to a higher wattage. Let us know if you decide on the 85W and give us a long term report.
Thanks,
David

Now with my serious face ( )
My expereince from my avaition days...
Yes, a bulb of higher wattage draws more amperage through the wiring, and in theory the fuse should blow before the wiring catch's fire but....
Also, with the higher heat of the bulb there is the far off chance the bulbs' surroundings can melt, go off-color, etc...

the foglights on the cayennes are H11 55W. DO NOT go more than 55W, they will melt your plastic case.
I changed alot of bulbs on my C-S. Check it out under my homepage

fog lights
I just changed my side lights to the clear ones and noticed while I was doing this that you could easily change the bulbs out in your fog lights at the same time!
