Default Any Feed back on the V6 ?

Well 3 weeks ago I traded my Denali GMC 2203 for a ML55 AMG Benz, Plain and simple Mama dosent like, it so here we go looking again, The Porsche is out of the question $, so What about the v6 one ? we look at the VW but is was a no go, main problem finding her a ride is that the Denali suspension was the best I have ever seen, but quality issues make me get rid of her, any suggestions ? Lx 470 Lexus ? Saw the Range Rover yesterday that thing is SLOWW, so no go, the x5 pretty much the same as the benz, any suggestions?

Thanks

The v6 is way slower then the range rover which ain't that slow compared the the land rover discovery. The range rover is the nicest ride nothing compares to it but it ain't built to race. Its also huge compared to porsche, merc and bmw. I think I could stick a cayenne in the trunk.

I think you should stick with what you got for the money the merc ml55 has the best performace evebn though it looks like a mini-van. The rest of the ML line sucks. The Cayenne Turbo is the best performer out there but the price tag on it it too high. I personally like the X5 in looks over the ML but I also like the looks of the Cayenne and VW.

Volvo XC90 might be worth a look if you want comfort over performance.

The Cayenne S could be a great option but then again the Gas milage will kill me, in all honesty one 800hp car is enough, so for Mama is more about comfort, the Volvo I can digest the rear end but I will look at it, what about that new infinity?

Gas milage will kill you? My Cayenne S is showing 18.1 mpg average, which I think is pretty dang good for ANY V8 powered SUV. I seriously doubt the V6 beats it by much if any. The CS certainly gets better milage than a Denali, ML55 or RR. With the air suspension and 20" wheels my CS also rides pretty dang good, not the marshmellow the Denali is but again, excellent in this class, certainly better than an ML55 or X5 IMO. I'm not sure why anybody consider the V6 Cayenne myself. That isn't enough engine for a 5000lb vehicle, especially one with a Porsche badge.

Why an SUV at all? You live in Florida, no NEED for the awd/4wd. There are lots of fine sedans out there, all of which ride infinately better than these SUV's you are considering. If comfort is the priority, get a car.

Well I got the V6 and for my opinion this car is real fast/powerfull being an SUV, I must add that I never driven the S, TT and the new Range Rover but I did all sorts of SUV's and non was to compare with the performance of my V6, I don't hink it's all about power, either way I think it's pretty powerfull and sucks gas pretty good, also like "Tito 911" said above, I also have a 400bhp TT so I think my V6 doesn't have to get that much beating.

OK...glad you like it. Fact is, at over 9 seconds 0-60, they are slow, you had better not race Accords or Camrys. That, and it is a VW engine. Just doesn't do it for me, you coulda had a V8

Tito, If you have the need to tow a car, I think you should go back to a full sized something. I tow a lot of stuff and have a full size pick-up to do it with. Tow ratings are misleading IMO and do not speak to the dynamics of having 5000+lbs behind you.

If you would have mentioned towing, I wouldn't have suggested a car, sorry.

I know I can't speak to everybodys needs but I try to find the right tool for the job. 928GT for speed and distance plus some canyon carving. Cayenne S for all weather canyon carving, hauling the kids and some cargo. Big pick-up for utility/towing, hauling. Real off-roaders for off-roading, big inch muscle car for reliable, repeatable quarter miles. Obviously most have to live with compromises.

A little towing with a Cayenne should be fine, the V6 will be really worked though (no passing). Was the Denali THAT bad? My '03 Chev truck has been pretty good for 25k miles now.

yes the gas milage was horrendous, the ML seems to pull the 911 fine ok with the Denali you could easily forget that you have something behiand

I am trying to look at this open minded and a Full size American Made is just out of the question, time after time I went back to them and the GMC was the last american car for me anyways.

Now you telling me that your V8 is giving 20s something on gas milage thats another window.

I don't know about 20's for milage but this is how it is used. My wife has a horse boarded 60+ miles away(one way). She makes the drive 4-5 times a week. 70% is mtn roads with a 60-65 mph limit. She has to pass through two towms on the way with a bunch of stoplights in each. The driving is really mixed. The trucks computer is reporting 18.3 average now. Straight highway it would probably show 20, straight city it may be 15. Still, I am really happy with that. It does better than the diesel pick-up. The CS would probably be fine with a 911 and open trailer. Go for air suspension, it is supposed to better compensate for trailering.
