Default Buying immobilized vehicle

UPDATE: In contract w/seller. Can disregard this post. IDK how to delete.

Now interested in: How to test kesy module

OLD THREAD:
Went to look at a 08 Turbo (coming from 955 CTT). Guy claims all was fine, parked car and next morning it wouldnt start. Key is pretty beat up (like falling apart). Noting on dash except mileage. Stereo reads somethign along the line of "cant comunicate with anything"

I got dash to say "immobilizer" when I tried using my 955 key (nothing prior). Cant get any reading on the code reader/no communication...its been like this for the guy since he parked it. Car turns over bypassing the starter relay, and cylinders on driver side look good. Teeny amount of bore score is all, claims didnt use much oil. Rear pass side floorboard moist, I noticed rubber floor mats all pulled up and in trunk.

Im fine working on these cars and OK for a project, just wondering if there might be something simple here. Seeking advice on what issues might be (and not to just steer clear I know what im getting into with a used CTT). Also, are KESSY modules, etc same between the 955 and 957? Because my 04 is sitting, totalled, waiting to finalize purchase by insurance and get towed off...so I have some spare working parts.

Does the key remote unlock door? I was in a similar pickle recently, and thought I may need to send my kessy and friends to ECU doctor. I think it’s curious the wrong key nets you immobilizer active…and the right key doesn’t. My ignition switch was toasted, and it caused an immobilizer active, but maybe steering lock? Someone smart may come along.

Since im not (yet) too familar with this issue I didnt really know what to test...The key didnt unlock doors from what I remember. There is a replacement ignition switch (with key, although shouldnt need it) with the car (not installed).
