Question SQUEALING Brakes!!!

I apologize if anyone has asked this question but haven't seen this in recent posts. I am have had a major squealing issue with my brakes (Cayenne S) since I got the thing a year ago. At first my dealer told me that it was an issue of burning the pads in and it would eventually dissipate. A few months later they told me this condition is common on all high-performance brakes and there is nothing you can do about it except replace the pads with ones that have inferior stopping power. Does this sound correct or is there anything else that I can do? I don't use anything to shine the tires that would lead to this although I have heard that if certain sprays get onto the rotors this can happen. I have deliberately held off from using anything (and wish I could because my tires are really dull).

I appreciate the reponses!

Your dealer should replace ur old brake pads with the new ones. Well, thats what my dealer did to my car and the squeeking stopped!

My pads where also replace as a result of excessive squealing. I waited 5k miles to see if the noise would go away, never did so they replaced, no charge.

Ours were replaced early on (first month) under warranty; dealer acknowledged the old-type pads were a problem and that is why they were covered under warranty.
