Retro-fitting Park Assist
Dear all,
Looking at a used Cayenne S but w/o Park Assist - which I want very much. Can the original Park Assist be fitted into a Cayenne S without Park Assist? By a dealer?
Drill holes, paint the sensors, hook up the wire, install the LED modules front and back, install the on/off switch in the overhead console, etc. Ummmm ....
Any yes / no / may be comment is very well appreciated in advance. :-))

Yes, You can install aftermarket sensors in your Cayenne. However, I dont think you can have the original porsche park assist installed!
PS: Look for aftermarket sensor companies, they are plenty of them out there!!

rting,
I will assume you have thought about adding this option. I have the park assist on my CS and would happily give it up. I think the holes in the bumper look aweful and the little beeps when you are still 10 inches away from something are usless. On such a small vehicle I really can't see the need.
Just my .02 but I've never liked this option on a Porsche because of the holes in the bumper. My next door neighbor has a 996 tt in the same color as mine. He has the park assist and I do not and when they are parked together I can tell he really hates the "ugly " holes in the bumper.
I don't mean to knock you if you really want this option but having it on my CS my thought is to leave it. Your bumpers look much better than mine without the option.

I think you should look for a CS that has the park assist installed. There are many pre-owned vehicles for sale, and surely you will find the right one if you exercise some patience and continue to pursue.
I love this feature on my CT, and would NOT give it up for anything! Naturally, there are times when it can be annoying, but then I just turn it off by pressing the overhead switch - simple enough!

My first encounter with Park Assist was in a Mercedes S class in Asia. Drove it through a very tight multi-level parking garage and the Park Assist is INVALUABLE! Then I noticed that not all kinds of Park Assist have the visual feedback. So, when it comes to the C S, it is a must have for me. The thread suggested by 1988carrera was way cool - somehow the car with the Carmon Red looked like a very expansive french red wine color! Have not actually seen one in my area though.
