Enclosed in the Christophorus magazine for those that don't have the subscription is a form for shirts and ties from Charles Tyrwhitt. Anybody ever buy any of this stuff, is it any better than anyone else's shirts and ties?

I tried some a year or two ago. I requested a slight sleeve shortening; it took them 6 weeks + to arrive from their UK alterations department. (I'm not that far out in the middle of nowhere.) As to quality, I'd give them a good, solid C.

Here's a second to rbaron. Decent stuff, but not great for the $$. Slightly above the average Dept. Store (Macy's, etc) level.

Thanks, I'll put it in the circular file.

I found their shirts to be much better than Brooks Brothers from a quality standpoint and their ties are very good. You just need to buy on sale.

Boy, do I disagree on this one! These are great shirts and ties!

I have ordered and received 6 of their shirts (and 1 tie) of what they refer to as their fomal (for suits or sport coat) shirts. Previously, I primarily purchased Robert Talbot shirts out of Carmel, CA.

Here's the price difference: Talbot: $165 -- $185, 3-4 weeks delivery for alterations. Tyrwitt: $60-$85, 3-4 weeks delivery from London. Packaging and service are impeccable. My wife believes that cloth qualtiy to be equal to Talbot. Delivery charges, I believe, are more, but seem reasonable.

Several of my friends have purchased them. One has owned a clothing store. They believe they have found the buy of the century!

Perhaps the others on this thread didn't order the formal or business ware shirts, and expected much more.
