Default Diagnosing HPFP (high pressure fuel pump) on 957 turbo?

I am having what I believe to be the classic symptoms of a high pressure fuel pump issue on my 957 turbo. I am getting periodic prolonged starts. This occurs in seemingly random situations. Sometimes when the motor is cold, sometimes when it is hot, sometimes on Tuesdays, sometimes on Saturdays. It happens maybe 10 to 20% of the time I start the car. Usually its not crazy long, but clearly longer crank time than normal. If I have a prolonged cranking time, I have decreased power unless I shut the car off and restart it. When I shut the car off and restart it, I usually do not have a second prolonged cranking time. Seems fairly random overall when I get the issue... I have the icarsoft diagnostic tool. I was hoping to DIY the HPFP if I need to do it...is there a way to confirm the diagnosis using the icarsoft?
