The wheels in Difference Engine's photos are the 19" Cayenne Design wheels. The photo I was showing was a different autocross. It was at the Cayenne PDE in Birmingham where all the track Cayennes had 20" wheels, either the Sport Design or the Sport Techno. The ones in the photo are the Sport Techno.

Good to know that one can press a Cayenne in an autocross. Anyone spin out? You know, checking the turn at 11/10ths?

I understand Cayennes eat tires - just normally. At about 1000$ for a set of four - what type of standard mileage may we expect just driving to work. I know, I know - It all depends - but I heard that just buzzing about town "some people only got 8000 but some are as good as 16000." Wowzers - sounds like my good old days with PEP Boys Cornells on my 55 Buick. Any truth to the statements of between 8 and 16?

Default Just changed my 18" Bridgestone Turanza's

at 17.5K- would have gone all the way to 20k if the front alignment had not been out. Porsche took care of alignment and front tires, I bought rears.

I rotate every 5k, and my wife is primary driver. She drives fast, but only on the freeway- she is not a fan of small roads with lots of curves....so probably not too hard on the tires.

I got about 15,000 miles on mine and would have gotten another 2 K but for a cut in one-so I replaced all. This is on a S, without air suspension.

Autocross #2 complete in the C-S and still no spins. In fact, it is very tame, even when driven to the limit (granted, she understeers like the fat pig that she is...). FTD was 42.0 and I was at 47.3. I think I have 2 more events in it before the tires are shot (tire wear is not good on a 5000lb autocross truck!).

Nice driving Pesky 914.

I was driving Zoltan's red 944S2 (on pirelli Pzero C's...an R compound but not very good for autocross...more of a track tire)...my 951 is currently in pieces.

To put Pesky 914's time in perspective...my best was a 46.27, had a 46.0 but it was + a cone. Zoltan had a 46.20. That Cayenne was moving!

Nice pictures!

I haven't autocrossed my S but I have to say that it is the most tossable and forgiving car I've ever driven. I know my 996 and S2000 handle better but the S requires much less attention when doing so. Read the latest Motor Trend where the editors tried and tried to make the S lose control!

I agree, the handling of my Cayenne TT is amazing. Even when pushed it is almost impossible to lose control (within reason). What really impresses me is the wet weather handling, it handles like the road is dry....nothing like what im use to with my Mustang or ...big ol Navigator. If more cars handled like this I think there would be a lot less accidents!

I wouldnt be surprised to see a cayenne get the FTD in the rain.
