Unhappy Quality problems with S

In the last 9 months my S has been at the service bay of my dealer for 20+ days. I have called Porsche customer Commitment (service) to file my complaints and see if they can resolve these continuing problems or start the process. to return the vehicle.

Has anyone else had this amount of problems?!!

Since I cannot attach a spreadsheet:

remote entry: 2x
rear tailgate not opening fully: 2x
console carpet not staying in place: 2x
passenger rear light not working: 2x
drivers heater switch inop: 2x
radio locking up: 8x
tailgate glass unlocking itself:2x
pcm failure warning:1x
system fault in AC: 1x
rear windows going up when pushing switch for down:1x
power steering system leaking:1x
door handles sticking open:1x
trailer lights intermitent: 3x < not fixed at all
left turn signal intermitent:2x
left front bumper/fender interface loose: 1x
tailgate release hatch broken: 1x
turning lights failure warning: 1x

Its currently at the dealer for a new radio (8th time) new amp (2nd time) and a new instrument cluster...

if you want to see my excel spreadsheet email me at bojali@yahoo.com

Sorry to hear about your troubles with the Pepper. Am curious to know if this is an early built vehicle - like '03 and early VIN???

Ours is early '04 VIN XXX#65205. Lots of initial bugs, Bose replaced but in dash CD still acting up and continuing electrical quirks. Not quite as many problems as you but TOO MANY. As a long time Porsche owner, I have been very disappointed with these issues, despite thinking the Cayenne S is otherwise a great vehicle.

I am beyond disapointed and have started the ball rolling on returning the car. I will trade it in for another one. I have talked with other owners who have had zero problems. So I just lucked out!!

I had alot of problems with my 98 C2s, but stuck it out because it was the last of the air cooled (4 windsheilds, 9 radios, etc etc). But Im not going to do this with a new car, first year production.

I agree with you. You should get another new vehicle optioned nicely for your troubles - Time is $$$!

I too have spent too many days at the dealer - fortunately for just some added upgrades and I'm still trying to fix my air bag fault light issue at present. In general I'm very satisfied with my CS.

There's really no excuse for so many problems like this in such an expensive, high - end Porsche SUV!

Good Luck!

Familiarize yourself with the lemon in CA. You're close to qualifying.

Later models are less buggy. Mine is a July build and I don't have any of those issues (lightly optioned)

Unhappy

We order ours with what i would call light options!?

air suspension
premimum sound/6pack cd
tow package
comfort package
heated seats
power seats
driver memory w/ mirrors
19" rims/tires
bi-xenon lights
variable power assist
rear seat sunscreens
non-smoker package

I also waited because i did not want the sunroof, probably my the root of all my problems!

so i got the lemon Pepper back from the dealer after a new instrument cluster and i would expect the lastest software code. So far the dash center display is not correct. when I set it to "main menu" then stop and restart the car, the center display goes to MPG, not the last display setting..
bummer

We have the alum interior trim, didnt order it but it was a dealer mistake,
watch out cause it dents easily. When you take off your belts, dont let them retract on their own, guide them back. otherwise you get funny little dents in the door trim!!

The insturment cluster change worked for about 4 days, Sunday on the way home from the SCCA BlunderHill races, the radio locked up again. The insturment cluster also was coming up on a random info after each restart of the car. Sometimes MPG, MPH. but never where I last set it to Main Menu.

I have contacted Tammy Rose at PCNA Customer Commitment and told her we have had enuff. I informed the Service rep at my dealter that I will be turning the car in as a Lemon . So what else do I need to do, I see that I should write this in a letter and send it to PCNA? What else?
