Default Rear Glass Open Fault

So I replaced a faulty latch solenoid for the rear hatch Glass on my '09 957, but the diagnostic system thinks it is still open when it is firmly latched closed. By trial and error I determined that the micro-switch on the latch mechanism was not closing properly when the window latched. I tried to adjust it but no luck. In frustration I shorted out the wiring for the microswitch - which should tell the system the window is closed and latched - but the system is still showing the open glass hatch warning. The glass opens with the rear-wiper mounted button and latches normally and the rear hatch is opening & closing normally. Any ideas anybody?

The Cayenne wiring diagram lacks the detail to diagnose this fault. The signals for the rear gate and window are routed to the rear control unit. Its the module in the right rear compartment.

I would check the wiring and connectors to that module.

Possibly a corroded wire caused by a leak in that area.

Thanks for the information, I will check.
