Cayenne base model/18" tires. 235/60R18 or 255/55R18
So its almost that time for new tires. 2008 Porsche Cayenne base with 18" rims. On the tire shop computer system, it lists 2 different size tires as OE. 235/60R18 and 255/55R18. Which one do you guys use? To make it even more confusing, the previous owner installed 245/60 R18. Not sure why he did that, maybe price or tire shop didn't have the others in stock, who knows.
So 3 choices of tire sizes. Car is a daily driver and we *sometimes* get snow in the winter. So I do want all season, snow capable. Recommendations on brands? Thanks in advance.

I used 235/60 for Snow tires without an issue. Same diameter so speedo was correct. Very minimal sacrifice on grip compared to the normal AS tires. IMO for winter setup the 235 is the way to go.
Summer def go with 255/55.
In either case, make sure the LOAD and speed rating are met to match the Cayenne capacities. Most tires are not up to the specifications... Thus the proper tires cost a little bit more than generic cheaper tires.

What width though? I am running 255/55-18 on my GTS but considering 255/60 next for more sidewall for off-road and rim lip protection. Probably selling the stock GTS wheels as I do not plan to track this one.
235/60 is shorter at 3.9cm vs 255/55 at 4.6cm

Slowly setting it up for a tow/fish/beach rig because I don't drive much and live at the beach now.

I just fitted 255/55-R18 Tires for the Summer and the ride is just fine - better than my 235/65-R17 Winter tires. A lot is tire dependent of course. I bought Pirelli Scorpion Verde All-Season Plus-II and I am very pleased with them. Quiet, good ride and exceptional grip in the wet.
