2nd time engine flooded and towed to dealer?
the was started and taken outside for 10 min then driven back into the garage and the engine flooded and would not start, and had to be towed to dealer, this is the second time? what should i do/tell dealership, is this normal or is there a fix?

I think our Turbo may have the same issue but has not needed a tow yet knock on wood.
When the car gets hot and is turned off after 15 minute cool down, there seems to be longer starter effort and a small puff of smoke comes out as if it had too much fuel.
We put about 780 miles on the car so far.
We might take it in next week as I feel it is an issue that should be looked at.
I'll keep you updated.

Engine Flooding
Never had any problem whatsoever resembling your experience with my TT. Since necessary to engage brake to start..unlikely you are pumping the pedal before that?? That white puff of smoke is not good..have it checked asap

i talked to the porsche district manager and he said that u can NOT turn on and off and on the car as it will indeed flood the engine. my dealership said there have been many other turbos yowed for the same reason. the engine must run for 10 minute(even if u only need to move ur car) otherwise you can flood the engine which requires an oil change. it is within operating spec for the Turbo model only! he also said the dealer/seller should have told u before buying/ordering the car.

Within spec?? Wonder how many things they have engineered "within spec" that does not make reasonable sense (can't back your car out of the garage to wash it without flooding?). They should have some sort of disclosure before you buy your rig, not after you have issues and need to talk to the factory rep.
Ever get the sense that some of these engineering marvels aren't quite as good as the technology they replaced? Remember when water in the headlights was a bad thing (now it is engineered that way), or a tranny shifted when it was supposed to.
Computers ruin everything I tell you... except for maybe this board

I think that answer is BS !
If that was the case about a hundred TT owners here and on the other boards would have raised the subject by now.
Take it back.

24,400 miles on my Cay TT, no flooding or hard starting at any time. I also drive the Cay TT from South FL elevation 16ft above sea level avg Temp about 72 Deg.My home in the NC mountains 4480 Ft above sea level, avg temp over the winter 16Deg...The TT get lots of engine on /off cycles. After a hard drive I do let the motor idle for a short time to allow the turbos time to spool down. I've never heard about not being able to start/ stop/ start the motor during a 10 minute time frame, sounds like a tall tale to me.....

I tried to replicate the problem today with the longer crank start after a long drive and it started the same like starting it in the morning.
Oil level is perfect as well as the coolant level.
My Mother drives the car more and hasn't noticed the starting problem, has only happened to me twice.
The smoke isn't white, more darker and smells a little like fuel, . No smoke coming out, only when it takes longer cranking to get it started like excessive fuel going in.
I am not pumping the pedal before starting the car either.
I think it honestly has to do with the Crappy Gas here in Colorado. I go to the BP gas station. Only can get 91 octane fuel here and it's loaded with ethanol(SP?)
I think by late spring early summer they reduce the ethanol on the fuel considering it is no longer necessary.
With all these high Gas prices, we should get 98 octane like in Europe.
Where I live it's 1.99 to 2.03 for 91 octane.
Otherwise, I have a Conoco and Shell station if any of you would like recommend on which you like best, no sunco here.
I can get 120 octane airplane fuel but I think it's leaded.
