Default Recall performed today

Just came back from the dealer and they did one of the recalls (wiring harness too close to emergency brake spring) while it was in for oil change (sorry, I can't bring myself to go 15K miles between oil changes....5-6K and I break down) and switch over from 18" winter to 20" summer wheels.

Part is called a Binder Clip, Porsche P/N is 955-612-612-00. Took virtually no time.

Nothing in the Porsche system yet regarding the transfer case inspection/replacement issue nor the GVWR sticker.

The recall for the GVWR sticker was released in December 2003. It is listed as A401, but it only pertains to 326 U.S. vehicles and 33 Canadian vehicles.

David,
thanks for the info.
I guess that leaves only the transfer case recall/check for me then.

My "S" was in the shop today to change the transfer case.
Took them 3 hours.

from a previous thread in this forum regarding the recall(s) for the Cayenne:

Make : PORSCHE Model : CAYENNE S Year : 2004
NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number : 04V071000 Recall Date : FEB 16, 2004
Component: POWER TRAIN:AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
Potential Number Of Units Affected : 4100
Summary:
CERTAIN SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES MAY HAVE HAD A TRANSFER CASE INSTALLED THAT COULD, DUE TO CHANGES IN THE HOUSING CASTING, RESULT IN THE OIL PUMP ROTATION. SHOULD THIS OCCUR, OIL STARVATION OF THE INTERNAL GEARS MIGHT RESULT.
Consequence:
CONTINUED OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE COULD RESULT IN A FRACTURE OF THE TRANSFER CASE HOUSING. INCORRECT TORQUE WOULD THEN BE APPLIED TO THE DRIVEN WHEELS OR OIL COULD LEAK AND CONTACT THE TIRES.
Remedy:
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THE TRANSFER CASE HOUSING AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE TRANSFER CASE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS NOT YET PROVIDED AN OWNER NOTIFICATION SCHEDULE FOR THIS CAMPAIGN. OWNERS SHOULD CONTACT PORSCHE AT 1-800-545-8039.
Notes:
CUSTOMERS CAN ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION’S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
