Hi!

I saw a thread on here about a russian fibre optic adapter which allowed for rear channels to be plugged in.

I have an android unit with the usual front output only MOST adapter, this sucks as I have lost volume in the rear and subwoofer. I would love to get these going again with a fibre adapter which allows for rear input.

Did this take off or did they prove to be crap?

Find the thread on it where I documented my journey on it extensively. TL;DR: have to order from Russia directly, mine died after 2 hrs of use, fader did not work anyway. I was told by their tech support that the fader functionality is a "work in progress". The unit is "compatible" with MOST busses on MB, BMW, Porsche, so maybe the fader works elsewhere, but not on the Cayenne PCM2.1. Yea, blame the marketing dept. I now have the 2-ch Chinese unit that at least works as advertised. Proceed at your own risk.

Given the expense and pain of the Russian adapter, I figured it would be better to just go with an aftermarket amplifier. Haven't felt the need to go that route, just yet.
