Your Experience With High Mileage Cayennes
I enjoy reading about others' experiences with their Cayennes. Please post summaries and pics of your history with your Porsche.
Today my silver 2005 CTT reached 200,000 miles. I got it 4 years ago at 150k miles, for $12,000, and it has been very reliable. It has also been inexpensive to fix, because I do the work myself. Here's highlights of what I've done to it:
- Jimi fix
- replaced coolant reservoir (it popped at the top of a steep hill while 4-wheeling)
- replaced driver side valve cover gasket to fix an oil leak
- fixed the vacuum tube system twice using fuel line
- replaced rear air suspension retention valves
- oil changes, 2 batteries, transfer case fluid, differential fluid, transmission fluid/filter, fuses
- added a bluetooth FM transmitter
- got a Durametric Enthusiast version
Still need to:
- replace cabin air quality sensor
- replace Purge Valve for Fuel Vapor Canister

I bought my 2005 CS for $3200 with 170,000 on it. Drove it to 205,000 and sold it for $5500 Now have the 06 ctts with 120,000 and have had engine out to replace torque cov seal. Did all rubber lines on back of engine wyait, motor mounts and valve cover gaskets, , gas fired engine preheater fuel and water pump, engine water pump, starter, upper and lower ca, tie rod ends and drop links. Intake “y”, coils, plugs and oil filter adapter along with trans wiring harness and valve body are next along with …gasp 380mm rotors. Basically all the deferred maintenance others didn’t do.

Just found most of my records for my 08 GTS, I’ve had from ~80k miles to ~160k miles now and ~8 years of happy motoring. Plan to go 200k+ miles. I think priciest part of owning this truck has been frequent tires and fuel but there’s nothing much like it
Will update repairs/service highlights in a few days.
