Default 957 diesel

Hi I'm just wondering if there are any inherent issues or common issues to look out for in the 3.0 TDi engine in the 957 Cayenne?

It seems like the V8s are great for performance, but the V6 petrol and diesel engines are more reliable with less issues. Is this true? Thanks!

Ok thanks for your reply. There a plenty of diesels available in Australia.

We do 20,000km+ each year and hope to tow, so a diesel seems to make more sense. The VR6 petrol engine is probably cheaper to service compared to the diesel, so I wonder if that counteracts the fuel savings woth the diesel... I'll check the VW forums re 3.0 Tdi reliability and issues.

Of course we'd love a GTS or Turbo, but I don't want to buy a car with inherent issues, just for the sake of saying we drive a "real" Porsche. Each engine and spec have their benefits.

for towing you should find one with diesel and air suspension.
TDI issues are pretty well documented in clubtouareg and other vw forums
