Default Oil leaks

2006 CTTS

I’m in the process of replacing the motor mounts and I have what appears to be a leaking timing chain cover gasket...what else may be leaking from this picture? It looks like oil residue / dirt is concentrated on the right side maybe related to the oil misting I had coming from turbo duct work? Maybe the two oil lines above the oil cooler are leaking as well? And maybe the dip stick seal?

there is some coolant I spilled making some of the parts look shiny, that is not oil.

Check front main seal (behind the main pulley)

Also check the upper oil pan gasket. I had an issue with few upper oil pan bolts being broken. Very similar oil splatter like yours.

Thanks for the reply. I will plan to check/ replace both. Do you know what tool is used to hold the crankshaft pulley? I looked in my the manual and it says 96790 and I can’t find it anywhere.

Not sure, I had my indy replace the main seal. He did not mention any trouble removing it.

As far as the upper broken oil pan bolts, I had 8 of those broken, insanity. Mush have been factory error. Big job though, you will need to drop the subframe. Typically lower oil pan needs to be completely replaced as it’s gasket is part of the pan and cannot be reused. There are so many seals and o-rings to replace during the process, plus you will need to buy every new aluminum bolt you remove, as you should not reuse the old ones, unless you want take a chance of any of the braking off again.
AutoAtlanta has all the diagrams and part references. It was a great resource for me as I was supplying my Indy with all the parts needed.

Thanks, I’ll start looking into it...I can’t believe how many seals and gaskets are leaking on this thing.

I removed the subframe today...I am going to try to replace the motor mounts without taking the engine out.

06 CTTS subframe out
