Default February Cayenne Sales Report

Well, February sales results are out and it looks like this will be the last month that the Cayenne will contribute to a heavy increase in sales from the previous year (sales up 86% from last February). Starting in March, Porsche sales will be judged not only against 911 and Boxster sales from the same period last year, but also against Cayenne sales from last year. Thus, from now on, an increase in sales from the previous year will truly be an apples to apples comparison.

As for the numbers, it looks like there were 1,240 Cayennes sold in February. This brings the total number of Cayennes sold in the US in 11 ½ months to 15,505 units (this is above the original allocation of 12,500 unit for the US but slightly behind the revised allocation of 17,000 units). The Cayenne sales breakdown for February are as follows:

451 - Cayenne
593 - Cayenne S
196 - Cayenne Turbo

Meanwhile, Boxster sales continue to fall, dropping 46% from 478 units last February to 257 units this February. The 911s fared quite a bit better, being only down 9% from 640 units last February to 582 units this February. You can see the complete model breakdowns at: http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/040302/cltu054_1.html

Lastly, another 3 Carrera GTs were delivered this month.

Thanks for these interesting figures, Karl.
I wish Stuttgart would publish them for the European Countries too.

Interesting note:

Of all the Porsches sold in the US in February (2,082), the Cayenne (1,240) represented 59.6% of all cars sold. Coincidently, in Canada, the Cayenne also represented 59% of all Porsche sold in February (61 of 103 cars).
