cable broken between altenator and battery
Hello,
I'm wondering I can't find a post about broken cables.
At my cayenne S 2008 I discovered first an issue at a cable to the e-box in the front. I replaced it, Followed by lot scratches on the hands...
The cable was not complete separated, but when you wobbled, the voltage in the e-box fluctuated a little. So i think the resistance value has fluctuated.
Obviously a second cable is also broken. The cable between the alternator and the battery, has the same issue and the resistance value fluctuates.
I found on the wiring plan, that there must be also a "transfer socket".
Do you have pictures, or descriptions, where the cable has been laid, or where I can find the transfer socket.
Hopefully on the weekend I can use a lifting platform.
Do you have tips, where I should look, to find the issue fast.
am i actually alone with this problem, or do others have these problems too?

It is very unlikely that the cable is broken, I bet the connector is corroded instead. Clean up all the connections with a wire wheel and give it a go. Clean both the wire connector side and the post side.

I have allready replaced the cable, which is the red one in the picture. Right in the middle of this cable was a sharp bend, so some wires are broken in the cable. I can't believe that too, but the Connector where fine, like new one.
But you are right, thats the reason, why I am searching for the transfer socket.

I could be wrong but isn't transfer socker is just another name for a power distribution block next to the battery?
I think your best bet is to just follow the cable to see where it leads.

Thank you, but you can see in the picture the power distribution block.
This transfer socket must be somewhere else...
I would like to know the location, before I start to investigate the failing cable.
