Default No Sound form Radio, Temperature sensitive

When I start my car, it is a crapshoot if the sound will come out form the radio or not. Now that it is winter, the Radio will work most of the time, in the Summer, it will not unless it is above 100F.
The indication I have when it is failing is that the head unit is fully functional, but no sound. I can change radio stations and functions and use all the tools in the head unit. BUT, I also noticed that my Dash Screen is not showing the Radio Station. When the Sound is working, The Dash screen shows the station I am tuned to.
As a Computer engineer, I fully understand that there must be a mad solder joint or a temperature-sensitive component that needs to be replaced or repaired. My problem is that I do not know where to begin to troubleshoot this issue.
I was told that there is an AMP in the right rear location of the car. I took off the panel and saw two Boxes with no indication of what they were and did not want to start to just replace components.
Does anyone have any advice or experience repairing this type of fault? There is a local small Radio shop that thinks they can fix it, but they are not a Porsche Specialist.

I believe bose stuff is located at the bottom of trunk and prone to water damage. I'd start there.

What type of sound system do you have? Bose has an amp above the right rear wheel, CDR does not.
Can you stick a CD in there and get sound? In other words, is it only AM/FM radio, or no sound at all from any source?
Do you have access to a scan tool that's capable of reading error codes out of the PCM? That could give valuable clues.
Cold joint, pinched wire, failing component, issues with MOST bus - a lot of possibilities.

I don't know if I have BOSE or not, I have to look and I will take a picture.
The fault is no sound from any radio function, AM/FM, CD, IPOD, Sirius or AUX. The blinker sound from the car still works, just nothing form the Radio.
Yes, I have a Durametric and can look for error codes the next time it fails.

Blinker does not go through the sound system.
I don't think Durametric will be able to read PCM, but give it a try. If a code was set, it should be stored in the memory as inactive if I'm not mistaken.
If you have Bose, the front lower door speakers will have a Bose logo. But, I believe every system with Navigation is Bose.

I have BOSE on my door and I do have Navigation.

Where is the BOSE Amp and how does it connect to the PCM? DO I have to take the spare tire out?

I will look for a code later tonight. Any help or information is appreciated.

The amp lives above the right rear wheel, below the rear quarter window. If you take out the right trunk panel access door cover, you can see it mounted on a bracket. To get full access you may have to remove the whole quarter trim, I don't remember.
Communication and audio transmission b/w amp, PCM, and any other components you may have (phone, cd changer, etc) happens via fiber-optic MOST bus. There's an orange fiber optic cable running b/w all of them, one in one out.
If you can access the codes in PCM with Durametric, you may get some luck. Otherwise, you either have to take the car to somebody who can, or you're limited to testing whether each component has power and that's all.
The subwoofer lives underneath the spare wheel, not the amp.

Have you tried pulling the fuse and resetting it? My PCM 3.0 does this sometimes where all I get is subwoofer output and resetting the stupid thing works.

Allegedly, the newer software fixes it, but that's time and money not well spent to me @ my dealer.

This is not a reset issue IMO. When the car is cold, it comes on, when it is hot it does not. IN the fall, it works in the morning but doesn't work in the afternoon. When it is really cold out, it works all the time. In the summer id doesn't come on until the sun heats the interior and makes the car really hot.

Is this a picture of the AMP I should be checking? It has BOSE written on it. Should I take it out and check the connections and/or locate a replacement? Maybe I can open it up and look at look for bad solder joints?

Yep, that's your guy. The one behind the wheel in the dip b/w wheel and tail light is the air suspension controller, you can put that back (until you have to re-solder cracked joints in there )
