How's it going??? I hope all is well with the C...Quick question regarding towing...I have the factory tow option with the receiver and wiring. I looked at the wiring plug socket that would be used to plug the trailer wiring in and it appears to be round in shape, ready to accept the male pins from the trailer. I understand US trailers use a square plug and perhaps it's a different wiring config???? What do I need to do to hook up a UHaul trailer or other standard american trailer. Is there some sort of plug adapter. Does the wiring on the C need to be reconfigured? Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Rockit

I picked up those two adapters at the local Pick em Truck store.. Takes 5 minutes to install.. They will look like this...

This is the 7 pin to 4 pin adapter that fits in the above piece..

Doesn't the 7-pin plug give you electric brakes (assuming that you have purchased and wired in the electric controller up in the driver's footwell)?

Kevin:

It looks good. Make sure the plug is all the in, the spring loaded cap is the keeper (so it doesn't rattle out during driving). You don't need controller with surge brakes. But you will get an alert that the trailer lites can't be detected. Ignore it.

My S is really good. As you know I use it for work and the unexpected benefit for me was it was fun to drive. All systems are working (since I got oriented to the electric draw). Hey I sold my boat to a guy Madiera, mine due in May for Memorial Day in Tahoe. If you're up PM me we'll get together.

How is your GT3? Have you been driving in the winter weather? (ouch those summer tires ;-). My son took it to Tahoe this weekend. It probably was good the rain traffic was heavy, he can't afford the ticket.

Good luck with the tow.

Thanks Kevin for the info and pics...Hey Rags!!! The GT3 has been in a slumber up here as of late. Took it out Saturday for some exercise...The salt had dissipated quite a bit...Tuff to wash the car in 10 Degrees F, so I don't take it out when there is a lot of salt dust. I wanted the trailer info, since I am planning to track the GT3 one or twice this summer. Want to trailer it behind the cayenne so that I can bring a spare set of wheels ect. Thinking about Watkin's Glen in May. It's a Tracquest event and it will be my first venture on a track....
Thanks again,

Rockit

Goodluck at Watkins Glen. I haven't been there in forty five years, Austin Healy's used to do well (I grew up in NYC).

Don't forget to include your tool box in tongue weight (usually up front, right?)

I'll PM if head that way.. and you do the same...

Question for you... does your check trailer light come on when right signal is on and your braking? when trailer attached of course..

Your welcome Rockit...

Yes Toby it does..

I installed this brake controller.. supposed to be the best on the market..
