Basically, according to the video, the BMW X5 4.6is had a slight edge in acceleration to 100 and 180 km/h, and the Cayenne S had the handling edge and better brakes, but not by much. The Cayenne S was heavier and priced better (Euro $) than the X5 4.6is, but I'm not sure what options were included. The upcoming X5 4.8is will likely outperform the Cayenne S in terms of acceleration, but at what cost? Also, the X5 has little off road capabilities.

I can not view the video, beause I think the appropriate ports are blocked by our firewall.
Is anybody able to share the video for download?
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you.

IMHO, the guy driving the Cayenne was real sloppy in the slalom... and it made it look like the Cayenne was less stable than the X5.
They should have had the same driver pilot both vehicles through the slalom... in the interest of consistency and fairness.
Nonetheless, nice video!! Very enjoyable!!

I think Porsche went a little overboard with the off road capabilites making it a LOT heavier than it needs to be. Honestly, how many are really going to off roaded- I think BMW is more realistic as to what is really expected with these vehicles.

Before the next test test; Go to the local sports bar and get 5 guys who weigh 200 lbs each and put them in the BMW. Include a six pack for incentive, add one driver. Now the playing field is level.
Now run the test with the S. Who do you think will come on top?.
The BMW is a car with a high center of gravity, it is an sAv. The Pepper is an sUv. There is a world of difference, but apples to oranges will suffice.

You are correct, many owners will not take their Cayennes off-road, but many do. Just look at the reports and photos on this forum. For myself, I would not have had any interest in the Cayenne if it had not had true off-road ability.

I was a bit disturbed by the tail-out sliding of the C in the slalom.
Did anyone notice any wheel and tire difference between the two? That would have made a huge difference in handling.
