Software update for egas
Fellas,
If you have not had this done, get it done. I can't believe the difference unless they updated some other engine control software. No lag and this thing takes off like a bat out of hell. I was dissapointed in perfromance until this update.

Don't know if everyone needs it. I picked mine up in Sept. and had the problem with sluggish on take off, hesitation, and "lurching" while in slow moving traffic. I had the update done after seeing it on this site and it really woke this thing up.

I just talked to my dealer and requested the undocumented egas update.
When I provided the service code above (24701999.1.0), he said that is an unspecificed service code for general work performed by a tech. Anything that ends in 999 is a generic service code.
Anyone have anything else that's more concrete?

I just came back from a test drive with a regional porsche rep to authorize the cardan shaft vibration fix.
He confirmed that the only documented software fix is egas update, which is equivalent to the throttle adaptation. It has to be programmed inside the DME chip. Is this information correct?
On the side track, I'm getting a new cardan shaft next monday. He had also mentioned that there is a known slight vibration on 80mph unrelated to wheel/tire or the shaft called 'radio vibration'.

I think he meant radial vibration as in tires that's the closest term I can think off. Have had that before. Switched the tires from front to back and gone.
I don't know of any codes or TSB #'s I just told the service dept. I wanted the egas update and they did it.
