A friend of mine, a car detail freak, told me to never wipe a car using circular motion. He said only wipe side to side whether washing, drying, waxing or removing wax. After a few wash and waxes in this manner it will improve.
Black is beautiful but also alot of work!

Thank your dealer's detail guy for that. Mine was the same way, took it to a real detail shop and he almost cried. Anyway he worked most of it out and one more time should clean it up nicely.

James,

My '03 Targa was basalt black.

My detailer was 'the best' w/ a buffer. That, IMO, is the key to getting the swirls off. To keep from scratching the paint after detailing, I tried to minimimize my washing: I dusted it 1st w/ duster, then sprayed it w/ a mister, using diapers or microfiber cloth to clean it.

Obsessive? Yes, but between details (every 2 mos. or so) the paint held up nicely.

Craig
