Default Differences between PCM 2.0 and 3.0?

Has anyone received the update to PCM 3.0?
I was wondering if there are any noticeable changes between 2.0 and 3.0?

According to TSB 9110 6/03, an upgrade to PCM Version 3.0 will require a new set of navigation CDs. How much do they charge for this update?

Thanks!

Matt

Some have had the PCMII update from Operating System 2.0 to 3.0, I am still waiting.

From what I understand, that and the Bose Amp Software update is to sort out certain bugs related to the operation of the PCM.

Once the update is done Nav discs for 2.0 will no longer work. In the US these would be the 2002 discs. I have purchased the 2003 discs from NAVTECH in advance of the update (dealer hasn't recieved his kit yet) and these cost about $200.

Mike,

Are you ever offline? Your "response-time" is just amazing.

Do you know of any visible changes or have you even seen an list of all the fixes/changes included? My PCM works quite well - except for the autopilot - so I'm not sure if it's worth going for the update unless there are some changes/fixes that would make it even more useful.

BTW - there's no word about the Porsche PCM on the Navtech site (or maybe I'm blind) ...

Could not sleep last night.

No I have not seen a list of fixes but I think the "slow to boot" which people have mentioned is in the TSB.

I hoped the "scan by preset" might have been fixed but I do not know. It may be heavily in the NAV area based on the comment that the old discs won't work after the update when they do work before as far as I can tell.

No charge from the dealer, warranty update.

Mike I had mine updated last week.. can't tell any difference yet.. although I haven't had the power up problem yet.. (meaning sometimes the NAV unit wouldn't turn on until 30 secs to a minute later)

Just had my PCM re set by the OPC. The PCM would not initialise the nav system. Dealer gave me a story about binary codes from both systems not speaking to each other. All fine now - can once again find my way to the office!
